Parrot Peeter Aureliu:
I really like this short film called Parrot Peeter Aureliu as it is a well thought out and has a good narrative that a man is talking to his parrot as his wife or girlfriend is packing up her stuff and seemingly leaving her husband, you can guess it is to do with the parrot and the relationship the man and the parrot have together, I was able to follow this narrative very easily. I also like the fact it is set in one location and doesn't change and that the variety of different camera distances are limited as wells the camera angles. The shot distance I liked the most was the opening scene of a close up shot of the man looking at his bird whilst eating a carrot, I like it because it didn't show the location until a few shots later. I also like the camera movement of the when the beads fall and start to roll the camera follows the beads While you are watching the short film and you can see two things happening at once and are able to follow both, whilst keeping on the main character and what he is doing. There also a eye line match that I like, which is near the end and it when the parrot speaks and the guy looks at the parrot and the camera changes to his view of the parrot and there is also a match on action that I like which is when he breaks the carrot, the camera starts as a close up of him breaking the carrot and once broken it changes to a mid shot of him and you see the a carrot piece fly off continuing the carrot breaking. Overall, like I said at the start I like the short film because of it's narrative and that the entire short film is very smooth and fluid and the even thought there is very little dialogue, it is very good and interesting as the main character says two variation of one line which is "Life is beautiful", which gives off a somewhat off a powerful message as to make the audience think about what the main character has said.
